West Virginia has many rivers and also many dams which create a unique beauty from ages of rocks that had been washed by the rivers, now exposed. Walking among them is amazingly peaceful and seems other-worldly and feels like a secret treasure when discovered. This was painted from my experience walking the “Dries” below Hawks Nest Dam in the New River Gorge.
